WE JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW SOME OF THE LOVELY THINGS PEOPLE SAY ABOUT SANCTUARY FAMILY SUPPORT :
Here is a poem we have received from one of our Family Members.
when you come into Sanctuary you will see a copy on the wall.
Sunday August 20 2017
Was the day I hit rock bottom
A day I realised that
I couldn’t manage
With what was going on
A family in distress
Our lives a total mess
Feelings of shame and disgrace
Thoughts of “how did we ever-get to this place”?
I was riddled with fear
For what tomorrow today the next hour will hold
I was suffering with sadness
For what was lost and what could have been
I was swamped with guilt and shame
As this was all my fault – I must be the one to blame
Agony, suffering and stress
Hurt and sorrow
An aching heart
A family torn apart.
Paramedics and police
What will the neighbours think?
As we are the only family
Being tortured by drugs and drink
Friday August 25 2017
I had a breakdown or a breakthrough
As I desperately search for help
It was then I found you
I scrambled my way through your door
The room was filled with happiness and joy
Then a gentle voice carried its way over to me
To ask me “where are you from”?
“Do you mean where do I live”?
“Well, who are you with”?
“I’m on my own”
“Who are you”? was the next question I asked
“I’m Roy” was my confused reply
“Oh God, I thought you was the Coach Driver”
Then Laughter filled the room
It was then that I knew I was in a special place
And I was no longer on my own
A place that was safe
A place where I could get help
From people who knew what it was like
To live with a loved ones drugs and drink
People who are dedicated
Who are kind and thoughtful
Compassionate
And committed
People who live by their values
Helping families get a better life
In a friendly and non-judgemental manner
With respect and diversity
And total confidentiality
Giving time and effort
In helping my recovery
To make the next-right-good decision
Enabling me to function
To regain possession of a life
That was stolen or lost
While in midst of absolute fucking chaos
I now have choices and I now have hope
In this tug of addiction war
I can let go of my end of the rope
There’s no place like this place
A place that offers refuge
To those desperate for help
To those in need of inner strength
Providing a shoulder to cry on
Giving us hope – to carry on
God Bless all at
Sanctuary Family Support

This e-mail off the Live Well Directory for Sanctuary Family Support
My name is Ryan – I am a GP at Princes Park and Brownlow.
I wanted to feedback that I have a number of patients who are/have been supported by yourselves. The feedback I have received from them is exceptional, people cannot speak highly enough for the work you do and the compassion you do it with. Also that you go the extra mile for them regularly.
It is also nice to have feedback so thought I would pass this on, and pass on my own thanks for supporting my patients going through very challenging situations.
Many Thanks
Ryan
